Baptist Health Line
Baptist Health Line is a free, 24-hour telephone hotline staffed by registered nurses at the hospital.
- Helps you make appropriate healthcare decisions, such as determining when a visit to the emergency room or a call to your family doctor is necessary.
- Educates you about prevention and other general health topics.
- Registers you for classes and events at the hospital.
Baptist Health Line is staffed by registered nurses with at least three years of hospital experience. In addition, Baptist Health Line staff has received intensive training in computer technology and interpersonal communication. Current staff members have backgrounds in critical care, trauma, pediatrics, cardiac care,and acute care.
Callers to the 24-hour service receive guidance on general health information. Questions about an illness or injury already under a doctor's care are referred to the treating physician. In emergency situations, callers are referred to their emergency department of choice.
